BACK UP YOUR HARD DRIVE ON A REGULAR BASIS.
My hard drive on my laptop died. Clicking noises are NOT GOOD.
I last backed up my homeschool and financial records on April 5. I last backed up pictures, ALL financial stuff, ALL homeschool stuff, etc. on December 1. Sigh.
A computer man is attempting to retrieve my data. We shall see. Please pray!

Oh, I’m in a similar situation. Dh is going to look at mine this weekend. If he can’t do anything, it’s off to the computer doctor with fingers crossed. In the meantime I get dh’s laptop but without all my “stuff”.

Once I have them organized there I’m going to burn them to a disc. I can’t imagine loosing my pictures. I know the financial and homeschooling stuff is important, but the pictures would send me over the edge. hugs

NO. I wasn’t.
Evidently there is something majorly wrong with it physically. It rattles. YIKES! I took it to a data recovery place, and they say that while they CAN retrieve the data, it will cost $1800. So it looks like I won’t be getting it.
