Possibly on hold some more
I'm home. This will sound bizarre since I went to a funeral, but I had WONDERFUL time. The funeral was lovely - we laughed and laughed and cried some too. (But mostly laughed.
) I got to see relatives that I hadn't seen in 16 years, and I got to see my other grandparents, whom I haven't seen in 13 years. Spent lots of time with my mom, stepdad, sister, and brother-in-law, and that was nice too. Got to go past the house I lived in till I was 4, and I got to take pictures of my grandparents' farm (the grandpa who just passed away) that had been in our family for over 200 years until my grandparents went into the nursing home. Soooooooooooo many memories!!!!!Anyway, I'm home.
But now it appears that a stomach virus may be making its way through the ranks. Only one is down so far, and I PRAY that's all, but you know how stomach viruses are....
And dh leaves to go out of town early tomorrow morning until sometime Friday.

And have I mentioned that I have emetophobia, which is a true phobia of vomiting? (Actually for me it's more of a fear of someone ELSE vomiting.) I've actually been doing pretty good today, although at 3:45 am when it all started I did have a minor panic attack.
I just hope I can eat, drink, and sleep this week though as I wait for the others shoes to drop.NOT COOL.
Possibly on hold
My blogging, particularly about courtship, will have to be put on hold for a short time. The main culprit is the AC adapter to my laptop. Since it's still under warranty (less than a year old!), I called Dell tech support, and once we went through the troubleshooting questions, the man said, "Well, you've won yourself a new AC adapter!" I'm currently using our desktop, which is ANCIENT (LOL - 5.5 years old...how sad that that is "ancient") and very S-L-O-W. I am NOT about to do any heavy work on this thing LOL.
So my new AC adapter should be here in 3-5 business days. In the meanwhile I have a dead battery and no way to charge it.
And I do have things that I need to do on my laptop (school stuff and bills, for starters). So I guess tomorrow will be errand day, and we will run to town to try to find an AC adapter that is compatible. I figure it won't hurt to have an extra.
BUT. In much sadder, news, my grandpa passed away today. :-( So I may be flying to Ohio within the next few days for the funeral. I have no idea where I'll be staying or how I will get from the airport to where I'm staying, but maybe I'll get that worked out tomorrow. Since I'm going alone, I probably will end up taking my laptop since I'll probably be bored out of my gourd when we're not actually doing funeral-y things. We'll see. I may or may not have the time, and I may or may not be in the mood to blog while I'm there.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers.
Questioning Courtship [Part 1]
I first learned about the idea of courtship about 8-9 years ago, I think. I happened to hear Josh Harris on “FamilyLife Today” or “Focus on the Family” one day. His story was so intriguing and compelling. I’m not sure if he used the word “courtship” specifically, but I do remember thinking that his reasoning for “kissing dating goodbye” made sense to me. After all, I had experienced the heartache of break-ups with boyfriends prior to my husband, and I also had SEVERAL regrets of the manner in which I had conducted myself in those relationships. So Josh’s story rang true with me, and this whole idea…

What was one of the fashion fads when you were a teenager?I was about as equally "un-faddish" then as I am now, so the only thing I can think of really are dresses with the big, white collars.

Name one thing you think people assume about you when they first meet you.It depends on how much they find out about me. But as soon as they find out that I have 5 children under the age of 10 AND homeschool, they assume that I am a patient person by nature, organized, adore children in general, and am an all-around Supermom. I sure wish they would then be willing to get to know me better so that they can learn that those assumptions are wrong. But usually they are so turned off by my "Supermom-ness" that they don't.

If you were given a free 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl to sell anything you currently own, what would you advertise? My house. That way we could find one that suited us better and was closer to town.

Fill in the blank: I love to sit outside with friends when it is a warm, summer night. (At least I did when I was younger and had friends to hang out with LOLOLOL.)Courtesy of Friday's Feast.

Al Gore Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
Former Vice President Al Gore was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world's attention to the dangers of global warming, a Norwegian lawmaker said Thursday.
Is that they best they could do??????????????
I wonder if the people who predicted the coming Ice Age 32 years ago were nominated.
