Feeling kinda poorly lately…
Very tired and nauseous. Been going on for 4.5 weeks now.

Psa 127:3-5
(3) Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.
(4) Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth.
(5) Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
I'm very pleased to announce that #6 is due to arrive somewhere around June 10, 2007.
Snow!
I think we may have had a flurry prior to this - the weatherman said we did, but I missed it evidently - but today we finally got some that stuck!
It's supposed to warm up, so I know it won't last, probably not even overnight, but hey. Not bad for November 2nd.

It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have. - John Kerry

(From what I can tell, this picture is legit. Still looking to find out for sure, but from what I've read so far, it is.)
The push toward high-tech jobs
I saw a story on the news this morning about how science teachers got to ride in a zero-gravity plane so they could spark an interest in science in their students. That's all fine and good. But my concern is this constant push, push, push toward all these high-tech professions is telling students that either don't have a true interest or don't have the aptitude that their future professions won't be "good enough." And what about the shortage of other professions or the quality of performance in those professions if the big thrust is toward all the high-tech stuff?
Now, for the record, I'm not anti-college. I'm not anti-high tech. I simply believe that there is a need for ALL KINDS of professions. The doctor is just as important as the trash collector. The plumber is just as important as the astronaut. The janitor in a bank is just as important as the president of that same bank. I'm simply concerned that if we continue to tell students that the only "worthy" professions are these high-tech ones, there won't be enough people to fill these "lesser" professions, AND the people who fill them won't take pride in their work.
I personally would like a car mechanic who is proud of his job and is good at what he does.
