I’m in denial
No, my throat doesn't feel funny, like that pre-sore-throat, "off" feeling.
My sinuses aren't feeling odd either.
I am NOT GETTING SICK WHILE MY HUSBAND IS GONE!!!
Where I spare my poor husband from listening to my rantings, where I share what is on my heart, where I share about my family, where I share about my God.
No, my throat doesn't feel funny, like that pre-sore-throat, "off" feeling.
My sinuses aren't feeling odd either.

Heh, we can get sick all we want we’re just not allowed to stop being moms long enough to recover. I hope you’re not getting whatever was going around our neck of the woods a coule weeks back. I’ve still got gunk in my head because of it.
If it will make you feel any better, at least you’re not hopping around the house with a twisted ankle (that I got chasing one of the kids).

I’ve heard good things about Emergen-C and Zicam. Extra Vitamin C and Zinc will do the job, too. I would take about 500mg per hour for the first day of the C. Extra Vitamin A really helps. You can load it for a short time unless it is the water-soluble kind. Then you can load it until you are better. Echinacea really does work, but you have to take more and more often than the directions. If you’ve already got the full outbreak of symptoms, you need to get Echinacea/Goldenseal. A very simple, though not pleasant way to fight something off very effectively is to eat a bulb of garlic over the process of a day or 2. I have found it goes down the best with cashew butter, though I can get it down pretty well with salsa. My daughter, Joelle, chops it. I don’t take the time. Peanut butter does not work. Almond butter does.
I would not eat sugar(lowers the immune system drastically), white flour products or animal products when fighting off a sickness. It is better to eat raw fruits to detox and raw vegetables to help the body rebuild. Living food contributes to life. Dead (cooked with no life-giving enzymes) food does not rebuild life. If you have a juicer, you can juice carrots and that will give you a real boost. Also drink lots of pure water to flush the toxins from your body.
I hope you beat the stuff. It is hard to be a sick mom when dad is gone.
Oh, btw, gargling with the echinacea/goldenseal tincture will ward off a sore throat most times.
Love and shalom,
Serena

Thanks everyone! I am somewhat of a “vitamin freak” already (dh rolls his eyes at my pile of pills in the morning LOL), and I’ve been very diligent with my vitamin C. I take astragalus as a preventative, and anytime I start to feel funky I switch to echinacea.
I feel pretty much the same today. God seems to be holding it off for me. Yahoo! Just wish I could sleep…I never can sleep when dh is gone.

Keer you are funny!
I think garlic is good. Vit C is ok - but your body disposes of excesses vit C so don’t take loads. Serena has quite an amzing knowledge of these things - I’m impressed.
Colds are caused by viruses - so plenty of fluids, and keep warm (keeping warm will help your immune system).
I offer all this advice understanding that you are in denial. Lol.
Hope you feel better soon Keer.

Just stopping by to see if you’re any better today. (It’s Thursday now.) Praying for better days to come quickly. I second the garlic by the way. And the Echinacea Goldenseal, I make mine as a tea.–>
