What Does My Handwriting Say About Me?
Found a cool link at The Upward Call. It's an amateur handwriting analysis. VERY interesting!!! Here is what my handwriting says about me:
Because of the way I make my loop on my y's and g's:
Kirstin has a healthy imagination and displays a fair amount of trust. She lets new people into her circle of friends. She uses her imagination to understand new ideas, things, and people.
The particular way I make the line that crosses my t's:
Kirstin is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect her ego when she feels hurt. She pokes people harder than she gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.
How high the crossbars on my t's are:
Kirstin is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned. Kirstin basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach". She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.
The way I make my m's and n's:
In reference to Kirstin's mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. When Kirstin slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project. She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Kirstin can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.
The way I make my o's:
Kirstin will be candid and direct when expressing her opinion. She will tell them what she thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don't really want her opinion, don't ask for it!
My slant:
Kirstin is moderately outgoing. Her emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, she can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. She has the ability to put herself into the other person's shoes. Kirstin will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes she will be happy, the next day she might be sad. She has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because she is in between. Psychology calls Kirstin an ambivert. She understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, she will not tolerate anyone that is too "far out." She doesn't sway too far one way or the other. When convincing her to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to her. She puts herself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet she will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Kirstin is an expressive person. She outwardly shows her emotions. She may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story. Kirstin is a "middle-of-the-roader," politically as well as logically. She weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when she finally has to. She basically doesn't relate to any far out ideas and usually won't go to the extreme on any issue.
The size of my letters:
People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Kirstin doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.
While of course there are a few things I think are a bit "off," overall I was amazed at how accurate it really was!

Wow, almost a whole week has gone by!
And really I wouldn't consider some of my latest posts to be all that meaty. LOL!
S, my youngest, has been quite sick this past week. Monday afternoon I was holding her, and I thought, gee, you feel sort of warm. So I took her temperature, and it was 101 point something under the arm. Since a couple of my others had recently had the same thing, I knew that at some point soon she'd develop a cough. Sure enough, during the night I heard that all-too-familiar barking sound coming from her room.
The others who had the same thing got a fever for a day and then a cough for about a week. Not S. I'm guessing it's because she is so young??? (She turned 13 months old last Thursday. Wah, by the way. LOL) She proceeded to run a 103+ fever until Thursday evening! At one point it was 103.8 under the arm At that point I said, "That's it, we're stripping her down." Fortunately the Tylenol and Motrin kept the fever at bay (didn't completely go away, but it was below 102, which is fine with me.) The scary part was that she was just so LETHARGIC. S is a go-getter, and for her to just lie around and sleep all the time is NOT LIKE HER at all. (She doesn't sleep normally LOL!) She wasn't fussy really, but just would not play or anything. It was so sad.
Friday she finally started to play a little, and her fever was only 100ish, so I didn't give her any meds. Friday night she was still slightly warm but was pouncing on dh, trying to get him to tickle her and wrassle with her, so I knew that she was on the mend.
She still sounds like she has been smoking since birth ;-), but she is fever-free and quite playful. Quite hoarse, and at times her nose runs like a faucet, but we are getting our little S back.
I just hope I don't get it since dh is out of town this week. It will be a miracle if I don't because at times the only way S could get comfortable during the night was right up against me, and then she'd proceed to cough in my face.
Oh well, if I do get it, I think I'm set on medications. It will take longer to get rid of, but desperate times call for desperate meausures!I've missed y'all!

How Much Is My Blog Worth?

Do you button shirts top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top?
I almost never wear button-up shirts since they are a pain when I'm nursing (which is somewhat of a "normal" state for me). But on the odd occasions I do wear one, I believe I button it top-to-bottom.Soup
What is your favorite sandwich?
A Stoby - on natural (what they call wheat) with ham and 2 turkeys, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, light on the sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.Salad
What was a family project you helped work on as a child?
I remember helping paint the playroom a pale green when I was 4 or younger. I'm not sure how much I actually HELPED though LOL!Main Course
When have you acted phony?
One time in particular I can think of is when I was at a party in high school. I was the only one not drinking, yet I was acting just as stupid as the rest of them. And I was saying how see? I could have fun even without drinking. But really I think I was just acting dumb.

Do you write letters or postcards? If so, to whom?
Nowadays it's usually a phone call, e-mail, or IM. But sometimes I'll write letters - those are almost always to one of the children we sponsor through World Vision.
Sometimes Perri’s Day Looks Like This
Oh my goodness. This is so funny. Perri shares what homeschooling sometimes looks like. Be prepared to laugh. Hard.
What Am I Listening To Right Now?
My precious 3.5yo boy, singing the theme song to "The Backyardigans," at the top of his lungs. Where is he? Sitting on the pot, "making the ew yuck in the potty."
At least he's on key.

Splurging on some wants
Chewymom decide to change the "[my name] needs" Google meme a bit, to "[my name] wants." She said her needs were funnier, but boy, I tell ya, my wants are funnier, by far.
1. KIRSTIN WANTS TO SPEAK TO YOU!
2. Kirstin wants to play you at that!
3. Kirstin wants everyone to have a good time here.
4. If Kirstin wants to move she can, you saying I shouldn't won't stop me.
5. Kirstin wants to stay because she knows one of them, but I want to go because I
know this tale before.
6. KIRSTIN wants a live-out Nanny job to start between now and May-05 for 12 months in New Zealand.
7. Kirstin wants to give children at Emanuel a choice of their own pajamas while they spend their time there.
8. Kirstin wants to buy a flute that costs $240.
9. Kirstin wants the recipe for the watermelon salad.
10. Kirstin wants me to go with her!
Being Poor
Jo blogged about what being poor is like. It brought back way too many memories.
(Get out your kleenex.)
How do you spell lonely?
M-E.

I can't tell you how done I am with my dh's travel. And actually the back-and-forth-ness (is that a word???) of his job. Just as the kids get used to him being home he's gone.
It really stinks that he has to make a choice between his job and his family. I'm praying for a job change for him - one in which he can have some semblance of a schedule (he literally laughs when we talk about his "schedule" since he doesn't have one!), and one in which my dd can't say, "Who's that guy who lives in the hotel? Oh yeah, Daddy."
Another Google Meme
Princess Ruby had another fun meme!
Google "Yourname needs" (so I Googled "Kirstin needs") and tell the first 10 things that are listed. So here we go:
1. Kirstin needs to take more of a lead.
2. Kirstin needs you.
3. Kirstin needs to drive the care with no airconditioning and does not usually drive long distances. (My guess is that I don't need to drive the car?
)
4. Kirstin needs more people for her to relate to and so she can finally have a friend that no one else is involved with in any way.
5. Kirstin needs us to be strong for her.
6. Kirstin needs to be taught to eat normal everyday food with a regular eating
pattern.
7. Kirstin needs to take a cyber pounding for the greater good.
8. Kirstin needs to go away, LOL i don't like her.
9. Kirstin Needs A Friend.
10. Kirstin needs to rest and try not to go through any emotional situations or it
will upset the baby and cause him to rip the wall again.(I think most of these have to do with some sort of Kirstin character in a TV show LOL!)
